Danica Flores Magpantay is the 2010 Supermodel of the World chosen by the Ford Model Agency in New York City. She is the first Filipina to ever reach the top of this modelling contest after near recent wins by Charlene Almarvez (1st Runner-Up last year), Charo Ronquillo (2nd Runner-Up) and Giselle Paqueo (Top 8). Danica, who is the daughter of model Lala Flores – herself a Supermodel of the World candidate in 1990s – is joined in the Top 3 by the runners-up from Lithuania and Poland. She is the second Asian to win the top prize.The Philippines first joined the contest in the 80's with former Miss International Melanie Marquez who became a runner-up and a favorite model at her time.
