BoA performed her second hit single “I Did it for Love” with Sean Garrett himself on the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

BoA performed this song for the very first time since this is a great opportunity because big names and big stars from different music industries (US) come to VMAJ's event and THIS is widely watched compared to other VMA's in Asia.

DBSK 'Stand By U' Sneak Peak

Dong Bang Shin Ki is currently having their fourth concert tour in Japan, during their absence recently they released the PV to their next single, “Stand By U.”

The single will be released on July1.

Take a sneak peak of the drama version of their PV.

New Breed

Francine Prieto? Nope! Since this is a K-pop blog, I reckon this is also good thing to add from time to time a new breed of artists.

Nylon Magazine features Karen Lee Orzolek (Karen O) who got a little recognition from the Kpop community. If she's a new sound to your ears, Karen O is the lead vocalist of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a New York based alternative rock band.

Probably unknown to many, Orzolek is actually half Korean. Born in South Korea with a Korean mom and a Polish- American dad. O is raised in Englewood, New Jersey.

Who is Seo Inyoung's New BFF?

After We Got Married and Seo In-young in KAIST, Seo In Young makes her come back in another reality show much like Paris Hilton's My New Best Friend Forever called Seo In-young's Brand New Friend. This is a follow-up to her previous reality show where she became a student at Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology.

Inyoung mentioned,

"I decided to come back to a reality program because I thought making a friend is a form of adventure in an age where it is so difficult to find someone you can fully trust."

The said program started last May 14 on the reality channel Mnet. Twelve potential BFFs will be given a mission and each week one LOSER will be eliminated. The sole survivor will become Inyoung's Shin Sang Chingu.

Over 5,000 hopefuls applied to be a part of the said show. But the reasons that they are joining is because many of the applicants want to become celebrities themselves and isn't really that keen on becoming her best friend.

She said,

"Most people i know try to befriend you based on your background, rather than having you as who you are. That's especially true among celebrities. In the show, I will try to find someone who can really understand and like me."

Oh Romeo Come Back!

Yes, they are coming back and this time Onew is in good condition.

SM Entertainment announced that the young popular Romeos are ready for their comeback stage performance next week.

Shinee's mini-album "Romeo" is dedicated to all their faithful Juliettes' (Fans). As they explained before, the mini-album's songs are similar to the Romeo and Juliet of the ancient literature though the spelling is different(Juliet).

Each song in the album tells one chapter of the whole album's story. Except that in Shakespeares' Romeo and Juliet, Romeo died while their album's last track (Boy Meets Girl) the couple had a sad and disappointing break-up.

If you're their Juliette(fan) will you be with them til their time comes?

SS501 to Hawaii and Thailand

The Boys are leaving soon to promote their Album in Hawaii. After four days of their promotions they will held a fan meeting. Along with them the Korean Ambassador to Hawaii will hold various activities as well to promote South Korea.

After their return, they will proceed to their next destinations, Thailand and then to Japan, Hongkong and Taiwan as part of their Asian tour.

Another May Bride

We know her from We Got Married, Hyun Joong called her the European beauty "Shinae".

Yes, they got married but not Alex. A garden wedding filled with their close friends relatives of about 250 persons joined their union at the Aston House on the W Hotel last May 28. Shinae exchanged vows with his boyfriend/husband who's a graduate student and 2 years her senior Park Jae Gwan.

Actor Lee Duk-hwa officiated and K-Will sang their wedding congratulatory song. Could the wedding dress be provided by one of her endorsements?

MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2009 Nominees

Tokyo/ Singapore/ Hong Kong - MTV Asia nominees for the 8th annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN (MTV VMAJ 09), taking place at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday, May 30 and hosted this year by stand-up comedian, Gekidan Hitori. Coldplay, NE-YO and Namie Amuro each received three nominations, while Franz Ferdinand, Katy Perry and Britney Spears all received two nominations apiece. Making the trip to Japan to perform at the MTV VMAJ 09 show are Green Day, BLACK EYED PEAS and Katy Perry, as well as local artists EXILE and 9mm Parabellum Bullet. Guest celebrities attending include (in alphabetical order) AI, Blue Man Group, Girl Next Door, Kimaguren, Maximum The Hormone, Meisa Kuroki, Natsuki Kato, Shonan No Kaze, Thelma Aoyama, and w-inds. Additional performing acts and guest celebrities will be announced accordingly.

The MTV VMAJ 09 awards are decided by the viewers and music fans who can vote for either Japanese or international artists nominated in the same category. The voting period is from March 18 through May 1 and can be accessed via web and mobile at www.mtvjapan.com/vmaj.

The 8th annual show will premiere live on MTV Japan, Saturday May 30 at 18h to over 7.2 million homes in Japan. (Portions of the program will be aired on MTV Asia and MTV China, air dates and times will be announced later.)

Sunmi's Surprise

Sunmi of Wonder Girls recently uploaded her pictures with her new hair color.

Does her return has something to do with her hair? As I mentioned last time JYPE released a statement regarding her return to Korea saying it was due to family reasons.

In June 2009, all the Wondergirls will be back in Korea to film a commercial and to do some other activities then all of them return to US to continue conquest.

Solbi Ice Princess

Thanks to the coaches and Solbi's Tournet, the determination of her teammates and for cheering at her for a week to practice for the game has sold out the back door.

Mnet's Ice Princess showcases Solbi's skills to join the tournament and effort to learn the proper fugure ice skating. The PD said that he doesn't know how this would look like on screen but he knows that this will get various reactions from the fans and audience. He also said that he is confident that they will enjoy like they did as they learned a lot from each other when they did the show. This will air tomorrow May 28 Thursday.
