Filipinos Turns to Cyberspace for Help

The ongoing flooding caused by Tropical Storm "Ondoy" in Metropolitan Manila and Luzon has turned Filipinos to trust cyberspace for help. They relied mostly to twitter, facebook, friendster and other social networking sites for their appeal for help from celebrities to ordinary Filipinos. People seek help for those stranded on the road, cafe's, inside their homes and to other people they hardly know that were stuck in rooftops due to floods.
This experience showed the Filipino sense of community or "bayanihan" can really overcome any storm – with a little help from technology.
