World Celebrates Barbie @ 50

The World's most favorite doll celebrates her 50th year and there's no way of stopping her. As a little girl i really love my first Barbie and I just handed it to my first and adorable niece Malkah.

Oh before I forget here's a short list of some activities in her honor:

a party at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City;
photo exhibition shot and styled by Karl Lagerfeld in Paris;
birthday bash at Real Malibu Dream House by Jonathan Adler;
a runway fashion show featuring 50 top designers at Brayan Park Tent;
spotlight at Bloomingdale's 59th Street and Soho stores in Manhattan;
Stila celebrating all things Barbie;
Runway show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week;
Studio Beautymix at Fred Segal in Santa Monica;
A book celebrating fashion and photography with only2,000 units issued;
Fiat 500 show car, which was presented as a gift to Barbie;
At the 60th International Toy Fair in Nuremberg German Chancellor Angela Merkel was given a special honor;
UK designers, Danielle Scutt and Rosksanda Ilinic created 50 Limited Edition Barbie dolls;
and in the Philippines a top mall held a series of shows for Barbie, a top magazine hosted a Barbi themed ball, top local designers hold a grand fashion show and a famous tv and movie star Marian Rivera graced the cover of a local magazine dressed as Barbie.

There's no signs of slowing down for this lady as she enters her new decade.

2009 is definitely Barbie year, Happy Birthday Dear Barbie!
