Mr. World 09 to be held in Korea

This September, 80 of the World's most desirable men will converge in Korea for the biennial Ms. World 2009.

The competition is not just about finding the most handsome, charismatic or muscular man in the world, but a truly modern, all-around man. Throughout the competition, male contestants undergo a series of events that test their strength, stamina, mental agility and determination over two weeks.

Only the top male contestants will make it to the Live Stage Final on Oct. 3, where they will be judged based on their performance, style and star quality.

Winner will take home a cash prize of $50,000 and the opportunity to sign a very lucrative contract.

The finals are being held Oct. 3. The two-hour show will be broadcast live to around 100 countries, with an estimated audience of over one billion.

The Miss World Organization is co-hosting the Mr. World competition with The Hankook Ilbo media group in Korea. The Korea Times is part of the Hankook Ilbo media group, the host of the Miss Korea pageant since 1957.

Spanish model and sommelier Juan Garcia was named Mr. World 2007 and will be visiting Seoul for the upcoming competition.
