Korean Artist makes Dresses from Food

Korean artist Seong Yeonju created dresses entirely out of a variety of food, such as tomatoes, bananas, mushrooms and anything you can think of.   Seong is a fine artist who uses photography as her main medium to create her vision.

She graduated from Hong Kong University in 2010, and her work will be showcased in an upcoming Korean Contemporary Art Group Exhibition in Los Angeles this coming January 2011.

JYJ - The Guardians

PhotobucketLast November 20, a friend of JYJ’s uploaded cute photos of The Trio posing with a very special prop: an egg.

In the picture, you will see Micky Yoochun smiling while holding the egg up to his face, and Xiah Junsu posing with the egg while bundled up under his blanket. Jaejoong, on the other hand, had the egg perched on his shoulder, and seems not aware of it.  Xiah Junsu even tweeted, Oh my egg~!! hahaha.”

The Trio instantly became the egg’s guardians, a very lucky egg indeed.

Must Have Bags - FW 2011

Glamour takes a new turn, down the snowy mountains, to our wardrobe additions. FW 2011 is an inspiration to take warmth to a new level and carry it in a bag.

A stylish weekend for the D&G women’s collection for Winter 2011: perfect to upgrade the glamometer by a notch and flirt with snow. A warm chalet, a winter tan sitting on top of the mountain looking nothing less than perfect. Match your environment, not only your bag. Name: Lily Twist is a new version of the Lily bag. Separate compartments give it a twist of chic in many dimensions and materials.

Freego @ PFW SS 2011

Kpop Portal recently visited the Freego fashion show at the Philippine Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011 held at the Main Atrium of the SM Mall of Asia. It was one wonderful evening of what Freego will be offering its patrons this coming summer. Noticeably nice was the glittered jeans for women and the great fitted jeans for men. Here are some of the collection. Comment as I am willing to give my loot bag that they gave me to the best comment we'll get.

Gut’s Dynamite Cabarets 2011 S/S Collection

The 11th Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo spelled fun and fashion. Last Tuesday, October 19th, Japanese label Gut’s Dynamite Cabarets showcased their 2011 Spring/Summer collection on the runway . The show featured wearable pieces for both men and women with a lot of patterns throughout. Gut’s Dynamite Cabarets founded in 2006 by two very charismatic guys – Cabaret Aki and Jackal Kuzu. Both born in 1974, the young designer pair first participated in Tokyo Fashion Week in 2006 and have since been active every season. Their style in both their menswear and womenswear lines has been characterized by vivid colors and bold patterns, including animal prints, brilliant reds, and polkadots.  Notice the henna tattoo designed as a neck piece which would likely be replicated in other parts of the world.

Injured U-KISS Members Struggle

With U-KISS comeback via “Shut Up!” the group seems to be going through some tough times as their members are suffering injuries, one by one.

Eli was the first member to sustain an injury, after he tripped during rehearsal on the morning of October 18. Fracturing his right arm, he sought treatment and underwent surgery.

Fortunately, the hospital stated that “it would not be difficult for him to perform.” Eli is currently performing with a cast and has revealed, “It will take 2-3 weeks to take off the cast. There’s a bit of pain, but it’s fine.”

Maknae Dongho was injured while participating in a marathon and complained of feeling a crick in his leg. Dongho explained:

“There was an event where idol group members would run a marathon with athlete Lee Bong Ju. We separated the idols into separate sections while Lee Bong Ju ran the entire 21km on his own. I tried my best, but it was still difficult. My leg began hurting after the marathon and so I went to the hospital and found that my muscles were shocked at the sudden strain. They said that I should rest for 3-4 days but I couldn’t since it’s our promotion cycle.”

Also, Kibum is also going through a bad throat condition, commenting with a laugh, “My throat is stinging and closing up, but it’s okay.”

Despite their conditions, U-KISS has been very professional, as they honor their commitments on Mnet’s “M Countdown“, KBS2’s “Music Bank“, and MBC’s “Show! Music Core.”
