Daniel Radcliffe Back in Broadway

After an unexpected baring in Equus, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is returning to Broadway for the revival of the 1961 Pulitzer Prize-winning musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. It is said that Rob Ashford, an award winning director will choreograph and direct the said musical.

"How to Succeed" was revived a decade and a half starring Matthew Broderick and now by Radcliffe.  However, "How to Succeed" has more singing and dancing.  Will it still shock you to see Radcliffe sing and dance?

“How to Succeed” is scheduled to open in spring 2011.

Carey’s Lip Synching Lets Down Her Fans

Mariah Carey lip synched her songs at a popular Korean live music TV show, disappointing fans and raising a stir on the Internet.

The 39-year-old singer, who is visiting Seoul to promote her 12th album, appeared on ``You Hee-yeol's Sketchbook'' set, a popular live music show hosted by You, Tuesday evening.

From her recent album ``The Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel,'' she performed two tracks, ``I Want to Know What Love Is'' and ``H.A.T.E.U.,'' but instead of singing live as many anticipated, she lip synched both of them in front of an audience who packed the studio.

All performers on the program, which has been loved by many music fans, have made live performances until now.

Many fans who were present at the set expressed their disappointment through the program's Web site after the show.

``We are aware that she is an international star, but lip synching on a live show is unacceptable. The rumors that the sound equipment was not good enough just seem like an excuse,'' one blogger wrote.

Some viewers even demanded that the producer edit the lip synched footages of the singer.

``Viewers don't just want global stars. We want a program that sticks to its initial goals and characteristics. If the show is just interested in bringing in famous singer who even break their own rules, we have no interest in watching it,'' another blogger wrote.

The producer and the makers of the program were not available to comment on this issue, while Universal Music, which was in charge of Carey's promotion event, also avoided any specific explanations on the incident.

The show will air on KBS on Oct. 23.

I can't find the video but for the mean time, here's Mariah's stage interview.

I think she did the same thing when she came to Philippines for her concert, Karl and I was there. We had fun in the concert so we didn't not bother to protest. Lol!

Potts to sing theme of Queen Seonduk on MBC

British tenor Paul Potts, who rose to fame after being crowned winner of "Britain's Got Talent," is set to sing the theme song for a Korean television series.

He will sing the theme for the MBC drama "Queen Seonduk," which was originally performed in Korean by singer Hong Gwang-ho.

The new version of the song will be re-interpreted in Italian titled, "Passo Dopo Passo," which translates as "steady steps."

The portly 38-year-old former mobile phone salesman gained instant stardom in 2007 after becoming the unlikely finalist in the hugely popular ITV program which has turned ordinary Brits into world celebrities.

Easier and Legal Sex Change for Korean Transexuals

Male-turned-female transsexuals will no longer need to fulfill their military service before changing their legal sex in family records.

The Supreme Court said Tuesday that it had revised a regulation on transsexuals' legal sex change approval to delete the clause stipulating that when a man changes his legal sex to female, he should have already fulfilled military service or been exempted from it.

The clause was designed to prevent men from dodging the mandatory service by getting a sex change. Male-turned-female transsexuals, who have not changed their legal sex, used to be exempted from the service due to their ``mental illness.''

``It was not easy to tell whether the applicants aimed to dodge the service or not, so we decided to remove the clause,'' a court official said.

The revision will enable male-to-female transsexuals to change the records more easily, he said.

Military service was one of seven conditions that the court prepared as a guideline in approving transsexuals' legal sex change after its first approval in September 2006. The guideline says an applicant should be aged 20 and over, have never been married and have no children; have suffered disparity between his or her biological sex and legal sex; have undergone a sex change operation; and be unlikely to change to his or her original sex again.

It also includes that the applicant has no intention to take advantage of the legal sex change in crimes; the change should not have grave influence on his or her family relationship or have negative influence on society; and the applicant, if a male-turned-female, should have fulfilled military service or been exempted from it.

As to the guideline, the National Human Rights Commission recommended last November the top court revise or delete it, saying it infringed on transsexuals' human rights. The court accepted the military service clause among the guidelines, along with the clause on influence on family relationship, and deleted them.

The number of those changing their legal sex is on the rise _ 10 people in 2006, 15 in 2007 and 29 last year. Among them, 48 changed from male to female, while six did so from female to male, according to the court.
