TVXQ Chosen by Viewers for 'Ellen Degeneres Show' as a Rising Star

TVXQ has been chosen by viewers of a famous American talk show as 'the foreign artiste who should be introduced to Ellen'.

In the 'Send Ellen Your International Music Suggestions!' event that began on NBC's 'Ellen Degeners Show' homepage in January, TVXQ received over 20,000 suggestions and was recorded as the artiste most suggested by netizens. This was achieved by a collaborative effort of fans in Korea as well as in Asia.

Many of the suggestions included the popularity of TVXQ/Tohoshinki in Japan and in Asia in general. This seems to be the work of fans across Asia coming together for a common cause.

With TVXQ being chosen as the singer with the most suggestions, many wonder if TVXQ will appear on the 'Ellen Degeneres Show'. The 'Ellen Degeneres Show' is a representative talk show in America alongside 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' and is popular with around 10 million households tuning in. Even just appearing on the show will be a strong foundation for an entry into the American music market for TVXQ. The Ellen Degeneres Show homepage did state that the singer with the most suggestions may be asked to appear on the show.

Regarding this, TVXQ's agency SM Entertainment stated, "We did hear about this but we have not yet received an official invitation." He also continued to say, "Currently, TVXQ is split between U-Know Yunho-Choikang Changmin, and Xiah Junsu-YoungWoong Jaejoong-Micky Yoochun. At the current situation, it would not be easy for the five members to appear on the show together." Currently, TVXQ is performing only in important events in Japan.

Tohoshinki Japan's Bestselling Foreign Artist

Five-member group TVXQ (known as Tohoshinki in Japan) became the bestselling foreign artists in Japanese music history with the group’s latest single album “Break Out!” Oricon News reported that TVXQ’s 29th single in Japan has sold roughly 25,600 copies in the first week out in the market, rising to No.1 spot on the Oricon weekly single chart. Japanese fans have eagerly waited for the release of “Break Out!” It has been proven by the fact that the album was placed first in the most anticipated album list.

The group’s album sales have surpassed the record set by Elton John in September 1997 when he released “Candle in the Wind” in memory of the late Princess Diana. They have also become the first foreign artist to sell more than 200 thousand copies in the first week since the album’s release. Meanwhile, TVXQ will market on February 17th their best album comprised of the songs introduced in Japan. However, it is not known when the group will resume their activities in Korea, since the legal dispute between three of the members and their agency hasn’t been resolved yet.

Tohoshinki's Break Out and Best Album are Highly Anticipated

The anticipation is rising in Japan for five member group TVXQ's new single 'Break Out', that is to be released today (January 27th), and their Best Album, which is scheduled to be released on February 17th.

On Japan's Oricon Chart for the 22nd, it was revealed that TVXQ ranked first on the most anticipated upcoming albums rankings. TVXQ beat popular rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel and AAA, who are both releasing their singles on the same day, to receive the title.

TVXQ's 2010 Japanese activities are uncertain as the lawsuit between some of the members and their agency has been going on since July of 2009. However, to have their album rank first as most anticipated album shows the direction in which TVXQ's Japanese fans want the group's activities to be heading.

On online shopping site Amazon, TVXQ's best album 'Best Selection 2010' is currently the most reserved album.

Xiah Junsu Hospitalized for Viral Infection

It was found that Xiah Junsu was once hospitalized for a viral infection.

Xiah Junsu was said to have received emergency treatment at a hospital in Gangnam after feeling unwell on the morning of the 18th. Xiah Junsu had been suffering from pain and vertigo from the day before but visited the hospital the next day when the pain became unbearable.

A representative of Xiah Junsu stated, "As he was not feeling well, we were going to go to an emergency room at a big hospital, but we thought there might be too many people there so he was hospitalized at a close hospital. We were told by the doctors that he had contracted a viral infection from an accumulation of fatigue."

Xiah Junsu rested that day as he received a blood test and was put on an IV. It was found that he had gotten the viral infection from fatigue and not a disease. After hearing from an early diagnosis that he did not contract any big diseases, Xiah Junsu decided to leave the hospital that night on the 18th.

The representative also said, "The hospital urged him to be hospitalized for at least a week and receive treatment as well as rest. As the diagnosis was one in the early stages, a thorough examination is needed. However, if Xiah Junsu was hospitalized for a week, it would cause problems with rehearsals for his musical that starts at the end of this month, so he decided that he had to leave the hospital."

After staying at home to rest, Xiah Junsu went back to his musical rehearsals on the 19th. As his body had not fully recovered, he decided to continue on with rehearsals while taking medication for his body. As his first performance is scheduled to be on the 26th, there isn't much time left for him to rehearse.

Xiah Junsu will be playing the role of genius musician Wolfgang Mozart in the musical . Xiah Junsu is said to have said, "This is my first try at acting. I heard that the fans have high expectations. Although my health is not at its best, I want to give them the best performance that I can."

TVXQ appointed as “Cultural Ambassador”

TVXQ received the exceptional recognition of being “Cultural Ambassadors.”

The private organization from the Cultural Tourism Board, the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) stated, “Due to the contributions they have made in the development of the cultural aspect through popular music, we have decided to appoint/award them as ‘Cultural Ambassadors’ as a form of recognition.”

They have produced the most number of successful album records even in such a difficult period of time in the music industry, and have been energetically involved in both local and overseas activities; these are the main reasons behind this award.

A representative from KOFICE said, “This honor was awarded based on those who have contributed to the cultural industry on a yearly basis. Every year, this award has been given to those working in the cultural field, but this year is an exception as it has been given to idol groups.”

They added, “As Dong Bang Shin Ki are busy with their schedules, the official announcement will be made later in January.”

Komai Chikako is an entertainment reporter who works for a YTV's program called Miyaneya, the one that Tohoshinki made an appearance on the day of Best Hits Song Festival. On 1/8, when Miyaneya was having a discussion about Tohoshinki's disbanding rumor, Komai Chikako voiced out what she had seen at Kouhaku's backstage.

"People have been saying that their dressing room was divided by a curtain, and that they came back to the dressing in 3-2 groups at Kouhaku rehearsal; but according to what I saw with my own eyes, there was no such thing as 3-2. They were together as 5 all the times; and even when they had to line up, they didn't split it into 3-2. The 3 who are in dispute with their company right now entered the space between the other 2, and they lined up as 5. The media has been reporting that Jaejoong had an expression that they did not want to answer their questions, but at that time, he was wearing a hood over his head, so it was hard to see his expression..." [T/N: what she meant was that since Jaejoong's facial expression could not be seen clearly, the media just assumed that he was in a bad mood]

Looks like Super Junior Hangeng (Hankyung) is not just visiting hospital.

As I previously posted Super Junior Hangeng has been suffering from different illnesses that he caught from his restless activities and SME was just neglecting their requests (a time for themselves / rest).

On my FB wall I saw these photos (above) of Hangeng and I almost break into tears, T.T (**Soomin, this will totally break your heart) I can't explain it but it looks like he was suffering from pain and not just visiting for check-up.  I had myself checked-up heap of  times but I never had a dextrose unless  my problem needs  serious attention.  He must have been dehydrated to get a couple of bags and I think each of them are 500 to 1000ccs. GAWD! 

TO SM ENTERTAINMENT,

PLEASE! DON'T DO SUCH THINGS TO YOUR ARTISTS, YOU SHOULD TREASURE THEM AND TAKE CARE OF THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE WORKING TO THEIR BONES TO BRING YOU MONEY!! EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FAIR, FOR PETE'S SAKE, DO THEY REALLY HAVE TO GO ALL THOSE SUFFERINGS? Oricon Style recently updated their website with revenue earnings from DVD + CD sales in 2009. In Japan, TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki came in at number 3 raking in ¥6,895,000,000 or $76,910,190.

Oricon also put in a small snippet on how TVXQ made such a huge leap in a short amount of time and that there's no telling how far the boys can go in the future.

Here's the top 3:

1 - Arashi - ¥14,461,000,000 (161.3 million USD)
2 - EXILE - ¥12,932,000,000 (144.2 million USD)
3 - Tohoshinki - ¥6,895,000,000 (76.9 million USD)

On the release of the album (tomorrow, Dec 15), Cassiopeians in the country will also celebrate Xiah Junsu's 23rd birthday.

As a reflex of his PA or manager (whoever he is) wants to thew her bag back at her, he still has his senses and gave it back but was almost cursed her. Aigoo! If I were there I'm going to slap that F-ing biatch! On the other hand at the second part of the video, Changmin was just bowing his head, he's probably ashamed and sad of what had happened."

In the recent 2009 MNET Asian Music Awards, TVXQ was awarded as the Best Asia Star. Mickey, Junsu and Jaejoong received the awards without the other two members. Some of the fans were probably disappointed because Yunho and Changmin were not present.

We don't exactly know the reason why the other two members (Yunho and Changmin) were not there, was it deliberate on the side of the management not to let two other members to be on the awarding ceremony?

TVXQ, Agency Fail to Reach Settlement

Micky, Xiah and Hero of TVXQ/DBSK and SM Entertainment have failed to reach a court-mediated settlement of a legal battle over what the group called ``unfair'' terms of their contract.

A Seoul district court said Wednesday it called in three members of the boy band at the end of September to mediate a settlement with their agency, SM Entertainment, but the mediation collapsed.

Court officials said the members refused to accept the mediation, leaving the court to make a ruling on the injunction in the near future.

The controversy over the five-member group's working contract touched off in late July after three of its members ― Micky, Xiah and Hero ― filed an injunction with the Seoul Administrative Court to nullify the validity of their contract with the agency.

According to the legal document filed, the agency prohibited their freedom as artists by claiming that the activities of the group and its members belonged to the agency, requiring them to follow its demands to appear at certain performances and broadcasts, and to stay under its wing for 13 years.

Three of DBSK's filed a possible lawsuit against their own company SM Entertainment.

Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun and JaeJoong had gone to Seoul Central District Court yesterday to hand in an application for provisional disposition to terminate all effects of their exclusive contract with SM.

There are rumors that the group is on the pit of disbanding but a representative of SME said "On SM’s side, we still have much love for Dong Bang Shin Ki. We do not want them to disband. Let’s resolve this peacefully seeing the long time we have worked together since their debut till now."

Another statement was “But as a representative group to the country and to Asia, our stand is that activities for Dong Bang Shin Ki have to continue even with this disposition application. And about the problems arising from the discussion to do a cosmetic entreprise, we plan to talk over them and sort out the problems as soon as possible.”

Could Yunho and Changmin's acting career started this fire? Since they are busy doing it, the did not take part in the lawsuit.

Apparently, the real issue that they are referring is the irrelevent conditions in their contract with SM Entertainment. the 3 members are not happy that their they are being attached exclusively to the company for 13 years and they are not happy with profit they are getting as well. (I think that is very reasonable since thaey are working very hard and giving big $$$ to the company).

The lawyer responsible for this case said, “We are currently preparing for a lawsuit against SM for this contract. We cannot reveal the details now.”

There are issues as well on SM's ‘Dong Bang Shin Ki cosmetic enterprise expansion’.
