Song Hye Gyo and Hyun Bin's Trip Cancelled

Actor Hyun Bin and actress Song Hye-gyo were to make a trip to Japan together for the first time since announcing their relationship, but the trip has been cancelled.

The Japanese agency Avex was to hold an event marking the release of the DVD and music album of the TV drama "Worlds Within" on September 26 in Yokohama, but Song cancelled the trip because of "problems in the Korean agency" that produced the drama.

Hyun, who will visit Japan on September 23, will celebrate his 28th birthday with some 2000 fans from Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, China and Singapore on September 25 at the Pacific Hall in Yokohama. On September 26 he will attend events related to "Worlds Within."

Korea’s two top movie stars, Hyun Bin and Song Hye-kyo, admitted that they are in love. Having starred in the KBS drama “Worlds Within” as reunited lovers, the two have become a real-life couple off-screen about two months ago. (Boo hoo! my hubby was taken away from me!) Hyun’s representative at A.M. Entertainment said the two have remained friends even after the drama ended last year and their friendship blossomed into love just recently.

Hyun is currently starring in the drama “Friends, Our Story” on MBC, while Song is taking some time off. They’re both Hallyu stars with big followings in Asia. Hyun shot up to stardom after playing a temperamental restaurant owner in the hugely popular series “My Name is Kim Sam-soon” in 2005. On the other way, Song debuted when she was only 15 through a TV series called “Wedding Dress.” Since then she made names for herself by starring opposite of singer/actor Rain in the TV drama “Full House” and Lee Byung-heon in “All In"

Foreigners Favorite Artists and Musicians

Lee Junki and Song Hyegyo have been chosen as foreigners’ favorite Korean stars. Roughly 3,000 viewers from 60 countries, including the United States, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, took part in a survey conducted by the entertainment program “Showbiz Extra” of Arirang TV to vote for their favorite Korean stars and Lee and Song finished first in the movie star category.

Lee outranked Rain and Gong Yoo by a considerable margin, solidifying his status as a new hallyu star. Song took 49.5% of the vote, easily taking first place over other actresses.

In the musician category, Girls’ Generation narrowly edged out BoA by less than 1% of the votes to rank as foreigners’ favorite female musician. As for the male singer category, Super Junior won 41.9% of support, defeating Asian star TVXQ, who earned 33.6% of the votes. SHINee was selected the most popular new artist, followed by 2PM and FT Island.

Actor Kim Bum of “The East of Eden” and “Boys over Flowers” surprised everyone by winning the title of foreigners’ favorite new actor over his co-star in “Boys over Flower” heartthrob Lee Min-ho.

Full House Remakes on Asian TV

Full House had always been popular. How can we forget how cute Song Hyegyo when she did the bear song dance and Rain's springboard to his acting career.

Now, Taiwan is making a remake of Full House starred by the hunkie Wu zun (Rain's Character) and Zhou Xun (as Song Hyegyo). Taiwanese are known for being uncreative because they based most of their idol dramas on Japanese Manga and Korean Manhwa. In fairness to them, they make it appear original and people are convinced. (Based from my Meteor Garden experience, I was not aware that they took it from Manga since I am totally innocent about it then).

I don't mind them remaking it because believe it or not, Full House will also have a remake in the Philippines, by GMA 7 Network. The Network announced that popular TV and movie actor Richard Gutierrez will play the role of Rain, but the female lead remains a secret. It will be shown in November 09. Also, the same network will do their version of another popular kdrama Stairway to Heaven to be starred by E! Hollywood's 3rd Sexiest Man in the World from the Philippines Dingdong Dantes who will essay the role of Kwon Sang Woo!

By the works of it, Asian TV will be dominated by waves of remake from Korea and Japan.

The world's first Panda Goodwill Ambassador is Song Hyegyo, she was recently appointed at a ceremony in Beijing, China.

At the Panda Reserve in Chengdu, Sichuan province, Song Hye Kyo spent four days to understand more of her new advocacy. The huggable panda on her lap is about 8 or 9 months old.

Song stated that it was her first time to experience and see pandas, she only gets to veiw them in pictures, documentaries or in movies and seeing one up close is like a dream. Song also mentioned, that there are many other animals that needs protection such as the Korean Otter which is South Korea's National Treasure. As an Ambassador, Song hopes for support and attention for environmental protection.
