Super Junior Finishes High On Year-End Music Charts in Asia

Super Junior Finishes High On Year-End Music Charts in Asia

According to a press release by SM Entertainment, Korean boy group Super Junior has topped numerous year-end charts in Asia with their hit single "Sorry Sorry".

"Sorry, Sorry", the lead track from Super Junior's third album, won first place on Channel [V]'s "Asian TOP 50 Year End 2009" music chart in Thailand based on the number of requests the song had received during 2009 via the Internet and post mail. Furthermore, "Sorry Sorry" ranked first in the 2009 top 100 singles chosen by Taiwan’s radio station Hit FM which holds the largest amount of listeners in the country. The title track reportedly received 250,000 votes in the survey consisting of online votes, listeners' requests and Hit Fm's weekly music charts Other hits by Super Junior included in the rankings were “It’s You” at 11th place and “Super Girl” at 29th place. In addition, "Sorry, Sorry" help its No.1 spot on Taiwanese music site KKBOX's "Singles Top 100 Weekly Chart" for the 30th consecutive week.

However, Super Junior's attractive magnitude is not limited to just Taiwan. By the end of 2009, they won two awards at Korea's 2009 Golden Disk Awards along with the best album prize for their hit album "Sorry, Sorry". Since debuting in 2005, Super Junior surprised the world with their first big hit single "U". Hopefully, Super Junior will be able to maintain itself despite the internal struggles such as Hankyung's want for termination of contract with SM Entertainment and Kangin's absence because of an alcohol related incident last year.

While Super Junior is largely dominant in Taiwan, it is by no means the only performers in the spotlight. Other K-pop artists on the top 100 singles chart include “Love Like This” at 7th place and “Déjà vu” both by SS501. Also, “Paradise” by T-MAX ranked 35th, “Ring Ding Dong” by SHINee at 39th, “Gee” by Girl’s Generation at 45th, and TVXQ’s “Share the World” at 79th.

SHINee's Triple Victory to No.1

SHINee's Triple Victory to No.1

Such a good gift for Onew who's still recovering from H1N1, his group mates successfully took their third crown on SBS Inkigayo.

I'm happy for these guys because they doing well. I'm excited that they are coming to Philippines, it's nice that I could now see them live and not just in YouTube. It would really nice to hear and see them perform.

Their Inkigayo performance was so good that you will actually not notice that they are missing a member. They surely are one of the best now and they truly deserve to win.

Chukhahae and get well soon to Onew!

This week's big surprise was the success of Park Bom's digital solo "You and I", taking the first spot on daily kcharts.

Park Bom's solo hit was anticipated by her fans and most of her critics declared it as a huge success.

The beat of the song and her singing prowess is so good to have a very sad story. No matter, 2NE1 followers such as myself loves it.

Congratulations to Park Bom and Dara as well for the success of their digital single as a solo artist.

G-Dragon gets his second

G-Dragon gets his second

All his detractors and critics must be ashamed!

G-Dragon collects his second trophy for hitting the #1 spot after a week of his official comeback at the Music Bank.

Last week G-Dragon wasn’t able to accept his first award on Music Bank but this time he won't let it pass.

G-Dragon definitely deserve a tiny time to relax, I know you are jealous that they were sleeping together (photo). But don't be too confident because you have to grab next week's crown.

2NE1's I Don't Care Unplugged

2NE1's I Don't Care Unplugged

Fantabulous!

One word that best describe their “I Don't Care Unplugged Remix” performance on SBS Inkigayo. The girls received an uncontainable response from their audience. If I were there, I would probably do the same.

Even YG was astounded by the response, and for that, the company will officially release the unplugged remix on September 3rd. Yup! that fast.

“The reggae remix version of ‘I Don’t Care’ revealed on SBS Inkigayo on 30th August has received good response. We have requests for the reveal of this new version of the song the next day of broadcast. After some discussion, we have decided to release the song officially on online music sites on 3rd September” according to the company.

Af of the moment, the girls are busy preparing for the promotion of their third single that will start this month.

G-Dragon #15 on United World Chart

G-Dragon #15 on United World Chart

After grabbing the top spot in Music Bank, G-Dragon's Hearbreaker quickly climbed up to #15 on United World Chart. Big time for the Big Bang Leader!

Well done and you deserve it GD after all the hardships and controversies.

The chart, which ranks the “top selling albums according to global sales figures and national album charts”. G-Dragon is lined-up with big international artists such as The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. Koreans and GD's fans are probably in cloud9 as well because GD beats the Sasha Fierce.

Congratz!

Hwangbo's Comeback

I find the rest of Hwangbo's Arisong sounds like her previous hit Techtonik. Even the moves had a bit of it. Don't you find it recycled? Though I felt like it was too repetitive, I still like it because it's Hwangbo unnie. Hyun Joongie I hope you saw her comeback.
